Bio

Raagapella is Stanford University's all-male South Asian focus a cappella group. With a repertoire of Bollywood pop, traditional cultural music, and original fusion pieces, Raagapella has sung in venues ranging from dormitories to stadiums including the Hollywood Bowl, and has toured across the United States and India. Two-time winners of the National South Asian A Cappella Championship, the group has also received critical acclaim for its debut album Raags to Riches, and performed several times alongside composer A.R. Rahman and other stars of Indian film music.

Raagapella's vision is to spread appreciation of South Asian culture and music to a wider audience, as well as to demonstrate musically the possibilities that arise from a fusion of Eastern and Western culture, which is the current reality of our globalizing world.  To this end Raagapella's music strives from homogeneity,  encompassing a spectrum of music from fast and poppy to choral––as well as throwing in a variety of genreroup has also received critical acclaim for its debut album Raags to Riches, and performed several times alongside composer A.R.
