News: Raagapella Performs with A.R. Rahman at the Hollywood Bowl

Raagapella alumni and members performed alongside A.R. Rahman and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl on July 10, 2011.

The Youtube video of Raagapella singing Jai Ho with Rahman is at http://youtu.be/K7xZn8A-Zbw. (Vivek Agrawal and Sachin Premasuthan of Raagapella are featured alongside Rahman, while the rest of the group appears at 0:55 in the video.)

In eight of the pieces, subtle use of the Raagapella vocalists and Cal State Fullerton University Singers created a glow or aura around the orchestral sound (sometimes nearly subliminal), and a playoff between Asad Khan's sitar and Rahman's piano created extra interest in the “Slumdog” suite. - LA Times
